WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE A FACELIFT AT MON VISAGE ?

Professor Francis Marchal has 30 years of experience in facial reconstruction surgery, applying facial plastic techniques to functionnal issues and vice versa. He devotes a long time to analyse and discuss the needs with his patients and uses all possible tools and techniques to obtain very natural results.

MY PHILOSOPHY IS TO SLOW DOWN THE AGING PROCESS

IN AN IMPERCEPTIBLE WAY

YOUR FACE IS UNIQUE. IT DESERVES CUSTOMISED TREATMENTS.

" LOOK  YOUNGER  BUT  NATURAL "

EYE LIFT

The precise knowledge of the anatomy of the face, and particularly of the underlying muscles and anatomical structures allow a customized approach to the eye region.

Every face is different, and every eye is different. You may need a localized lifting of the eye area.

The eye is surrounded by the orbicularis muscle. The careful preparation of this muscle allows its suspension, opening up the look. Professor Marchal performs this technique via a hidden approach in the hair.

This surgery can be perfomed as an isolated procedure, but it is generally associated with an eyelid procedure and an eventual brow lift procedure.

This quick healing procedures are extremely rewarding as they offer a very natural and glowing appearance of the eye.

FACE LIFT BY SMAS PLICATION

A face lift might be appropriate for you if you're experiencing significant sagging skin and deep wrinkles.

The muscle that controls our facial movement, situated just under the skin is called the Superficial Musculo Aponevrotic System (SMAS).

Since the 1970's, surgeons do not anymore pull the skin for a face lift and rather work on the SMAS.

The simpliest technique that can be used at first stage of aging is the plicature of the SMAS, wich means suturing the muscle on himself in order to elevate the inferior part of the face. This is done whithout cutting or dissecting the muscle.

The procedure can be associated with other techniques such as localised fat grafting, and eventual eye lift procedures respecting always the philosophy of professor Marchal, looking younger but natural.

FACE LIFT BY SMAS ELEVATION

The face lift by an elevation of the SMAS is often called deep plane as the dissection is performed under the muscle. The extent of dissection is directly linked with the result, the full dissection of the SMAS beeing more long lasting and more efficient than a plicature, specially when there are more signs of aging in terms of sagging and wrinckles.

This dissection requires an excellent knowledge of anatomy, as the facial nerve branches are located immediately under the SMAS in the anterior part of the face.

The traction is applied to the muscle that is sutured laterally, gaining few centimeters of traction. Two different vectors of traction are applied : In the face more vertical, in the neck more horizontal, but respecting each patient's anatomy. The skin is further sutured  via invisible  sutures, without any traction to ensure long lasting invisible suture lines and a natural rejuvenating aspect.

FACE LIFT BY DEEP PLANE APPROACH

The real deep plane face lift is the most recent and advanced procedure requiring a unique knowledge of anatomy. It consists in an anterior deep approach of the SMAS, with less dissection, and liberation of three ligaments that are retaining this muscle. These three ligaments are close to facial nerve branches.

It is an extremely powerful lift, allowing complete traction and thereby providing a strong and long lasting rejuvenating effect on the face.

This procedure is realised mostly in cases of important aging signs and is very often associated with eye lift and neck lift procedures including in some selected cases lip lift.

Professor Marchal approach focuses on efficient tailor made surgeries with minimum post operative consequences keeping always the natural look of his patients.

LIP LIFT

The face ages differently within individuals and the tendency of the upper lip to cover the teeth depend mostly on the status of the patient when he or she was younger.

A careful analysis of the thickness of the lips and of the symmetry is performed by professor Marchal pre-operatively in order to understand the needs and explain the possibilities to the patient.

Restoring the smile is very important in rejuvenation and this can be addressed with a minimal invasive approach, even in local anesthesia.

The procedure consist in removing a minimal amout of skin via a hidden approach. This subtly raises the position of the lip, increasing the amount of visible pink tissue, discovering the teeth when smiling and thereby creating a fuller and more youthful look.

NECK LIFT

One of the first and most embarrassing signs of aging is the so called "turkey neck". In most cases it is due to a congenital situation, the parents having suffered from the same condition.

Liposuction and neck lifts are classicaly associated with face lifts, but several techniques can be applied. Professor Marchal uses a specific extremely powerfull technique which consists in removing the fat pockets that are under the skin and in the deeper portion of the submental area and sutturing together the edges of the platisma muscle on the midline.

This procedure restores a firm and youthful neck, creating immediately a strong rejuvenating effect.

Combined with a plicature or SMAS elevation facelift, it can be performed even at an earlier stage of aging - in the mid fourties - keeping always the goal of having a younger but natural look.
